Cheese made from carbon dioxide

It is possible to modify a bacterium to turn carbon dioxide, oxygen and hydrogen into useful raw materials for vegan cheese or medicine, for example. Biochemist Sandy Schmidt wants to feed this bacterium with carbon dioxide from factory waste gases. She is hoping for funding for her research from the FutureCarbonNL innovation programme.
